Come worship with us.

Worship is at 11:00 am on Sunday mornings.  We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of each month as well as on special days such as Easter and Christmas Eve.  Fair Trade coffee is served in the upstairs lobby before the service.

We are located near the northeast corner of the intersection of Dutchtown Road and the Pellisippi Parkway, at 940 Sanctuary Lane, Knoxville, TN 37932.  Our phone number is 865-966-3372.

Our minister is the Reverend Sharon Carter.  Sharon is a native of East Tennessee and a graduate of Louisville Theological Presbyterian Seminary.  She lives in west Knoxville with her husband and daughter, and also has a son living in Chicago (soon to be Los Angeles!)  Sharon treasures the traditions and beliefs of the Presbyterian Church (USA) but is also interested in and open to new ways of connecting with God.

Our Choir Director/ Organist is Colleen Ferron.  Colleen also gives private lessons in piano.

As Presbyterians, we believe...

Our theological tradition leaves room for a wide range of differences while adhering, with other Reformed Christians, to certain core beliefs:

--We have all fallen short of God's intention for our lives, but through the grace of GOd in Christ we are forgiven and renewed.

-- As people of God we are called to service and salvation in God's name.

--Our lives of faith are guided and motivated by the watchwords, "Grace alone, Faith alone, Scripture alone."

--That in obedience to Christ the church is open to reform of its standards of government, worship or discipline, always affirming that it is "The church reformed, and always reforming."

A Brief History.

Parkway began in the late 1970s as a church plant by the old Knoxville Presbytery, meeting in a local elementary school.  In 1982 Parkway was chartered and built a building on the present site.  Over the years members have come and gone, but the spirit that created Parkway remains-- a spirit of friendliness, of openmindedness, of love for one another and our surrounding community.

What we have to share.

We at Parkway are blessed with a wonderful piece of property right in the heart of West Knox County.  We have a soccer field, an ampitheater, a children's play area and an outdoor pavillion.  This spring we are planning a community garden area and an outdoor labyrinth. Our grounds are open to the public; to use our facility or grounds on a regular basis, contact us at 966-3372 or by e-mail at parkwaypresby@tds.net .
