Parkway and the ORNL Federal Credit Union are partnering together with a free seminar to help families better their finances in the increasingly difficult economic climate.

The Financial Assessment Counseling Seminar (FACS) will help participants:

1. Assess thier financial situations and develop financial plans,
2. Learn to use credit wisely, understand their credit reports, and identify ways to improve their credit scores,
3.  Deal with the stress that results from financial issues and the current economic crisis.

The two part seminar will be offered on Saturday, February 21 and Saturday, February 28 from 9AM til Noon at the church.  For more information or to register for the seminar, click here.

Study of "The Shack" begins January 4.

Our study of William Paul Young's book, The Shack, will begin on January 4 with an introductory meeting and continue for the following 6 weeks.  The Shack is the story of a man who, after facing a major, life-changing event, has an encouter with the Trinitarian God that causes him to re-examine his beliefs and ultimately find healing for his life. The class will meet Sunday mornings at 9:45.  For more information, click here.

Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by to check out our site! As the pastor of Parkway I am constantly reminded of the concept of "family"-- and that family members are not always related by birth but can also come together through shared experiences and beliefs.  And as a family we are here to share in each other's joys and happy times as well as each other's troubles and sorrows.  Sometimes, we laugh. Sometimes, we cry. Always we love.

Life is a struggle sometimes.  We all know that.  But we also know that sharing those struggles with others is what makes our life experiences deeper.  Helps us understand life as more than just getting by-- and helps us find the deeper meanings to our everyday struggles.  At Parkway, through our worship services, study classes, and fellowship and mission activities we find that our struggles aren't unique; that there are others who will walk through life with us, supporting us along the way; and that at the core of life is a God whose love and mercy provide a window into the deeper places of life together.

If you're looking for more from your life than you're currently getting, join us for worship one day.  You'll be welcome, no matter who you are, no matter what your circumstance.  Because here, you're family.

Peace, Sharon

We are located at 940 Sanctuary Lane, Knoxville, TN, 37923-- at the corner of Dutchtown Road and the Pellisippi Parkway.

Worship Services are held at 11:00 am on Sunday mornings.  Dress is casual to business casual. Children are welcome and childcare is provided for our youngest members. Our worship service is traditional but upbeat; we strive to honor our long history of worship traditions while keeping in mind the people of today.  Eucharist--the Lord's Supper-- is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.

Sunday School meets each week at 9:45 am.  We have two adult classes, one of which studies books of the Bible, and one which takes on current topics and issues.  There is a Sunday school class for youth that deals with current topics as well, and a class for children.

Parkway is a group of friends and family who once were strangers, but who have come together to be a part of the Body of Christ in West Knoxville.  Our members represent a cross-section of the population in our area, with a diversity of ages, education levels, job types and economic situations. Parkway is a member church of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the Presbytery of East Tennessee.

Our minster is the Reverend Sharon Carter, who is a native of East Tennessee and a graduate of Louisville Seminary.
